June 3, 2019 – Dream BIG Oklahoma Award Nominations Now Open

Durant, OK – Dream BIG Oklahoma is an annual statewide event hosted by REI Oklahoma to showcase the “best of the best” who help build, innovate and grow Oklahoma’s economy. In 2018, the event recognized fourteen individuals, businesses and corporations for making a significant impact in economic development and for their commitment to serving others.

To further reach those who are making a big impact in our state, REI Oklahoma is opening up nominations to the general public for the top three Dream BIG Oklahoma awards. Nominations will be accepted until June 30, 2019 with the winners being notified in early August 2019. Winners for all the Dream BIG Oklahoma awards will be recognized at the annual event scheduled for Tuesday, October 8th at the Grand Casino Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

The 3 awards include:

Vision Award
Recognizing an individual, business or corporation who has truly transitioned their dreams and visions into reality while enhancing Oklahoma’s economy. The 2018 Vision award winner was the Hobby Lobby family for its long term commitment to Oklahoma.

Dream BIG Award
Recognizing an individual, business or corporation who is not afraid to “dream big” by making a substantial difference in their community, state or where it is needed most. Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives received the 2018 Dream BIG award for their philanthropic efforts to electrify a poverty-stricken village in rural Guatemala.

Fern Green-Bowling Diamond Award
Recognizing a woman in business who has served as a shining example to others and who has made a significant impact in her business and community.  The 2018 winner was Kathy Robinson, founder of Schoolware, Inc.

Anyone may nominate an individual, business or corporation meeting the established criteria for each award. Individual nominees must be from Oklahoma and a business/corporation nominee must be have been established in Oklahoma with current locations in the state. Submit nominations at www.reiok.org.
