Cassidy Gilmore will be connecting Native American entrepreneurs with economic development opportunities as the newly-named coordinator of REI Native American Business Resource Center. The Center is a partnership between REI Oklahoma and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
Most recently, Cassidy served as the District Sales and Marketing Manager for Avon Inc. where she worked hand-in-hand with Avon representatives to create business plans for home based businesses throughout the 10 ½ Choctaw counties. In her new position, she’ll provide specialized technical assistance through one-on-one business counseling, training workshops and educational networking opportunities.
“Her professional background and familiarity with southern Oklahoma’s economy will serve as a valuable resource for enterprising Native Americans in the area,” said Sherry Harlin, REI Business Development Director.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Cassidy has been a member of several Chambers of Commerce throughout the state and is actively a member of the Oklahoma Association of Career Technology Education. She and husband Chad became parents to son Carter in 2013.
“I am most excited about seeing dreams turn into realities for Native Americans,” said Gilmore. “I love watching people become self-sustainable, and I can’t wait to be a part of laying the groundwork to their futures.”
