Chris Meyers, Executive Vice President & CEO, Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives, has joined the board of directors of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. (REI), a statewide economic development organization.
In his current position, Meyers is responsible for providing a number of services to the state’s Electric Cooperatives including Safety and Loss Control programs, Self-insured Worker’s Comp group pool, state legislative issues and bill tracking, marketing and publication of Oklahoma Living magazine.
Meyers is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and the University of Oklahoma with an MBA. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma and began his career in the electric utility industry in 1985.
“It is always great to welcome new members to REI’s governing board, and when someone like Chris with his vast experience, qualifications and credentials will commit time to serve on the REI board of directors, we consider ourselves very fortunate, “ said Clayton Taylor, REI board chairman.
In his 25-year career in the utilities industry, Meyers has worked with businesses large and small and understands their needs. He is also community and civic minded as indicated by his long-time service as a Rotarian and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for Oklahoma Goodwill Industries.
Meyers lives in Edmond with his wife, Lori and three children.
