Stillwater-based Iron Monk is Brewing Oklahoma Craft Beer.
With more than 30 years of combined brewing experience, Dave Monks and Jerod Millirons founded Iron Monk Brewing Company, bringing the first craft brewery to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Dave has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from North Carolina State University and Jerod earned an MBA from OSU. Since opening in 2014, they have created 16 jobs, and award-winning, handcrafted brews that have been met with excitement throughout Oklahoma.
In 2015, they opened the tap room to share their year-round favorites as well as the ever revolving, small-batch brews, which they have about 10 on tap at any given time. Complementing their handcrafted brews is an impressive lineup of local entertainment and food vendors. You can enjoy PurdyQ BBQ food truck on Wednesdays and Fridays, Macarena’s Mexican Street Cafe on Thursdays and they offer Pie Five Pizza on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Check their FB page for events!
The popularity of their products has spread rapidly, and several use locally grown ingredients. Their high-point beers (Milk Stout, Payne County Imperial IPA, and Exit 174) are available statewide in liquor stores. Stilly Wheat is currently available in gas stations and grocery stores in North Central Oklahoma with plans to go statewide within a month or two. Brewery tours and tastings are available every Saturday at 2pm and 4pm for $15/person. Each tour participant will also take home a free logo pint glass.
